Chippy's special suppers are a huge success

Southside chippy Buon Appetito recently hosting a special charity event to celebrate 33 years of business and to thank the local community for their support.

The Busby Road take away sold all suppers for £2.50 and raised a remarkable £2000 for charity.

The money raised will be split between Callum’s Causes, a Yorkhill children’s charity; The White Lily Fund, a West of Scotland breast cancer charity and the Beatson.

Alma Faccenda told The Extra: “Buon Appetito first opened it’s doors in 1978 when Loisa Faccenda arrived in Glasgow from Italy.

“Since then three generations of the Faccenda family have worked in the shop and we wanted to thank the local community for their continued support by hosting this event.
