A variety of new play equipment will be installed including a climbing matrix, see-saws, trampolines and a roundabout suitable for wheelchair users.

The park had been highlighted as an area for improvement. Further consultation provided local schools, groups and residents with an opportunity to have their say on how they wanted the park to look and what facilities to include.

These works are being funded by development contributions, received specifically for the enhancement or provision of active open space in the area.

East Renfrewshire Council Environment Convener, Councillor Alan Lafferty: “Throughout the past year, outdoor space has been hugely important to us all, providing us with somewhere to get fresh air and exercise, so I am delighted that we are creating yet another high-quality facility for young people to enjoy.”

The upgrade will get underway end of April and is expected to be completed within four weeks.
