Some of our readers might recognise William as a spray painter in the Anderson Boyes steel works who then worked for North Lanarkshire Council until his retirement.

Janet, nee Black was a care home worker before she too retired.

The happy couple have three children – Martin, Scott and Simone ;and six grandchildren – Craig, Aaron, Daniel, Layla, Zac and Brodie.

So much has changed since the Davies’ big day when Edward Heath was prime minister, Jimi Hendrix was number one in the charts with ‘Voodoo Child’ and the Holywood blockbuster ‘Ryan’s Daughter’ was the must-see Robert Mitchum movie.
