Rotary first for Kirkintilloch

Rotary International’s first female president in its 115-year history is to visit Kirkintilloch – virtually, of course.

The local area will be the first port of call for Jennifer Jones since she took up the post this month.

Ms Jones, from Ontario, Canada, will put forward her vision for Rotary worldwide to more than 100 local members by Zoom on Tuesday, 
October 27.

Kirkintilloch Rotary President Morag MacLeod said: “It’s an exciting time to be a female president of our local Kirkintilloch Rotary. I am looking forward to hearing Jennifer Jones’ vision for rotary in her year as world president.”

Former local president Bob Tomlinson added: “Jennifer’s appointment is a new era for Rotary worldwide.

“The fact that she is coming to Kirkintilloch as her first visit to Scotland is an honour and a privilege. She is a remarkable Rotarian and will be an awesome president.”

Ms Jones is founder and president of Media Street Productions Inc, an award-winning media firm in Ontario.
