Royal reminder of 1977 visit to Cumbernauld by Her Majesty the Queen
With the royals very much in the news with the Coronation Weekend, we thought we would afford our readers an enjoyable stroll down memory lane, when the late Queen celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1977
Her Majesty took the time for a regal meet and greet in Cumbernauld Shopping Centre and judging from this photograph, the pleasure taken by locals in catching a brief glimpse at the Monarch was absolutely reciprocated.
More recently, the Queen visited Greenfaulds High School and the Irn Bru factory with Prince William.
Her love for Scotland was well documented – and she was certainly no stranger to Cumbernauld!
