The shop will also operate a free pick-up service for large furniture items.

Donations for the charity shop can be handed in from April 26 onwards.

Commenting on the store opening, Manager Lynda Rowley said: “We have been patiently waiting for the restrictions to be lifted so we can open the doors and I’m delighted that we’re now nearing that stage.

"I know that the people of Motherwell and beyond will be generous and supportive of our work.

“If anyone has donations for us, please start to look them out – we’ll be able to accept items when the doors open. All sales raise much needed income to support disabled children and adults.

“We’re also looking for volunteers, who play such an important part within the organisation.

"They help ensure the shop is tidy and attractive, they sort and replace stock and deal with customers and other retail aspects like working the till.”

Skills learned are valuable for personal development as well as very relevant to careers in retail, advertising and business.

Volunteers also have the opportunity to meet lots of people, play an active role in the community and make friends.

By choosing to buy from or donate to the shop people can help keep valuable products and materials in use for longer – saving money, supporting local communities, and protecting the environment in the process.

See www.sensescotland.org.uk for further details on volunteering opportunities with the charity.
