Petition launched by Douglas villagers angry with local bus services

CAMPAIGNERS in Douglas are so dissatisfied with local bus services through the village that they are urging locals to sign a petition highlighting its perceived weaknesses.

The brassed off locals revealed their concerns about alleged high fares and inadequate service frequency as they made a passionate appeal for help to local MP David Mundell.

A spokeswoman for Mr Mundell said that villagers were worried that irregular bus runs through Douglas were impacting upon their chances of travelling to work in places like Lesmahagow or Glasgow.
