JUST weeks after his plans to house rats in caravans made national headlines, a developer is seeking planning approval to build new homes in a Crossford street.

Neil Pringle submitted the plan to build a single property in Holm Road, just one month after he withdrew an application to build four homes on the site.

He has also re-registered his plans to build four new homes on Holm Road as well as construct an agricultural shed.

And in a further twist, the land could be used to farm more than 60 pigs!

Mr Pringle said: “Ultimately, my wish is for four new houses in Holm Road and a separate property with an agricultural shed.

“I’ve always wanted to go back to pig farming and have bought 65 Kune Kune pigs which I hope to farm on the site. I have already tyre-bailed part of Holm Road. It is clear to me this would stop any potential flooding to Holm Road.”

Mr Pringle added that he was planning to submit more applications to South Lanarkshire Council – this time for industrial units.
