Plan a picnic with ethically-sourced treats this summer

In the Scottish Year of Food and Drink, schools and community organisations across Scotland are being encouraged to register to take part in ‘One Planet Picnic’.

Organised by the charity for Scotland’s environment, Keep Scotland Beautiful, it’s designed to get people thinking about sustainable food choices and discovering locally grown products.

The One Planet Picnic, which runs between June and September, encourages local communities to hold their own picnic and enjoy sustainable, locally and ethically produced food - raising awareness of where food comes from and how it is produced.

Local groups including schools, youth groups and places of work are encouraged to visit the Keep Scotland Beautiful website and register their picnic to be entered into a Scotland-wide prize draw. Registered groups will then be able to access a range of resources from invitations and posters to recipe ideas.
