Plea after man vanishes from hospital

Police are continuing enquiries and appealing for help from the public in tracing a man missing from Springburn.

Gary Smith (23) of Springburn Road, vanished from Stobhill Hospital, where he was receiving treatment, around 4.30pm on Thursday, August 27. He is described as white, six foot in height, with a slim build and short brown hair.

When he was last seen, he was wearing blue jeans, a white polo-top and white trainers.

Inspector Catherine McNally of Baird Street Police Office said: “It is out of character for Gary to go missing and to not be in contact with family and friends. There is mounting concern for his wellbeing and we are now appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing him.

“Enquiries and searches are currently ongoing into his whereabouts. It is possible that Gary could be in the area of Ayr or also Greater Glasgow.

“I would urge anyone who has seen him, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact Police Scotland officers at Baird Street on 101.”
