Plea for help to trace missing woman

Police are appealing for help to trace a vulnerable woman missing from Glasgow for more than two months.

Julia Chikosi, 37, was last seen by her mum at her home in Mount Vernon on Sunday, May 8.

She then attended an appointment in the Bridgeton area on Wednesday, May 11.

Julia has not made contact with any friends or family since. She was expected to return home a few weeks after she was last seen. When she did not return or make any contact, her mum reported her missing.

She is described as black, around 5ft 4ins, with brown eyes and black collar-length hair. She also has a tribal tattoo on her left ankle and another on her left thigh.

Sergeant Alan Docherty from Shettleston Police Office said: “Julia’s family and friends are very concerned about her and want to know that she is safe and well.

“It’s not unlike Julie to not be in contact for periods of time. However, it is important that we hear from her as soon as possible.

“I would appeal directly to Julia to get in touch with a friend, family member or Police so that we know she is ok.

“I would also ask anyone with information regarding Julia’s whereabouts to contact officers at Shettleston Police Office on 101.”
