Police appeal for information after Biggar crash

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was knocked down in on the A73 in Thankerton yesterday morning.

The 40-year-old man sustained serious head injuries after he was struck by a southbound Ford Kuga whilst crossing the A73 at Sherifflats Road at approximately 11.10am.

He was taken by helicopter to the new South Glasgow University Hospital where he is presently detained.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

The 71-year-old driver of the Ford Kuga was not injured.

The A73 at Sherifflats Road was closed for six hours.

Constable Simon Reilly is appealing for any witnesses to contact officers at Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Motherwell via the 101 number.
