Police investigate thefts

Thieves broke into a Cumbernauld home and snatched several items.

The theft happened sometime between 8pm on Wednesday, September 11, and 10pm the following day at a property on Greenrigg Road.

Police say the female householder returned home to find the damage to the door.

Police say that the door had been forced open.

Thieves made off with a haul of items.

This included a flat screen TV, a mobile phone, an iPod and docking station, and jewellery.

Meanwhile, a quantity of underground cable has been stolen from a site in the Westfield area of Cumbernauld.

The cable is valued at a four figure sum.

It is believed the cable was stolen sometime between 9am on Wednesday, September 11, and 9am the following day.

Witnesses or anyone with information regarding these incidents of theft are urged to contact Cumbernauld Police Office on 01236 503900.
