Police warn about danger of stolen drugs

Police are appealing for information after potentially highly dangerous drugs were apparently stolen from outside a Bishopbriggs pharmacy on Monday (August 22).

It’s reckoned a batch of oxynorm capsules (Oxycodon fell to the ground during an early evening delivery to the Auchinairn Pharmacy in Auchinairn Road, and that they were subsequently stolen.

Constable Karen Deans from Kirkintilloch Police Office said: “The drugs stolen, if taken incorrectly or without medical supervision could be very dangerous, or even prove fatal.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish more details on this theft and I would appeal to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the medication, or regarding this incident to contact Police through 101.

“Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
