Pollok school blaze

A POLLOK school has suffered “considerable damage” after being set alight.

The blaze at St Marnock’s primary started at 2am on Sunday, and, detective constable Jackie McIntyre said: “Thankfully no one was in the school at the time, but there is no doubt that this fire was set deliberately and there are been considerable damage caused as a result.”

Glasgow city council estimates that a new front door will be needed, as well as repairs for smoke damage — but that the school will open as normal for the new term.
