At Kirkton Parish Church, Station Road, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm the Credit Union local Outreach service is being officially opened by the South Lanarkshire Provost — and local councillor — Eileen Logan.

The event will be a “See how you can benefit” whereby members of the public and existing Union members can find out information about the credit union’s operations and services.

Said a spokesman for the Union: “The Credit Union has been working together with the Carluke Community Council to bring a Credit Union service to Carluke.

Credit Unions have a very different business model to banks and serve the whole community, meaning they don’t have to approach payday lenders or other high cost lenders.

“BSLCU also offers Life Savings Protection at no extra cost which could provide your family with a single lump sum payment to cover end of life expense in the event of your death.

The Outreach service will be held in Kirkton Church every Monday from 10am to noon.”
