£1m in fines paid by litterbugs
Following a crackdown by Glasgow City Council on people who litter our streets, they have succesfully managed to grab back around £500,000 by issuing 20,000 fixed penalty notices. However, since April 2013, figures show that the council have raked in the grand sum of £1,082,876.
The council said: “We ensure that the monies raised from these fines is invested back into street cleaning and wardens.”
