Pupils display sporting girl power in spades

Pupils from Craigholme school have enjoyed an outstanding run of sporting success.

Girls from the school in Pollokshields excelled in badminton, hockey, cross country, swimming and judo.

The S3 hockey team won the West District Junior Tournament and finished runners-up to Dollar at the Scottish Cup Finals.

The Senior 7 won silver at the High School of Glasgow Sevens Tournament. The indoor team won the Scottish U18 Indoor Tournament.

Megan McDonald, currently No2 in Scotland in the under 52kg weight category. In her first year competing in the 12-14 age band, she was the also only Scot in top five, and took Silver in the Ultimate Open Judo Championships.

Katie Blaxter won the Glasgow Schools Badminton Championships.

In Cross Country, Aurelia Tiffoney won an individual silver medal at the Glasgow Schools Primary Championships. The senior team won team gold at the Glasgow Schools Championship, while the third year team won team silver.

At the Glasgow Schools Swimming Championships, Craigholme’s J6s won silver in the freestyle relay.

Anoushka Nabili won an individual swimming silver.
