Red Hose Race 2011

THERE was a comfortable victory in Saturday’s 4km Red Hose Race for Irish challenger Ivan Scott, who finished a full 200m ahead of second-placed Scott McIntyre of Carnwath.

As the first local home, Scott received the traditional pair of red stockings from Sue McDonald-Lockhart – wife of Angus Lockhart of the Lee – at a historic race which originated way back in 1508 when James IV gave a Charter of the Lands of Carnwath to John, third Lord Somerville.

Winner of the ladies race was Lisa Major, with second lady home being Skye Dick.
