Refurbishment plans for Craigash Road Post Office

The Post Office on Craigash Road in Milngavie is getting a facelift to create a more modern, open-plan local branch with extended opening hours.

Customers and other interested parties are being invited to give their comments about the plans. The new post office would have an open-plan till at the retail counter alongside retail transactions throughout shop opening hours, instead of from a separate screened counter.

If the change goes ahead, the branch would open from 8.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday, giving an additional 45 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service every week.

Post Office Area Manager Damian Mulholland said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Craigash Road and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

He added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
