Trader Jacqui Fairbairn of Gemini Cards on Cowgate was one of the eyewitnesses.

She said: “I don’t believe anyone was hurt. I saw both drivers get out of their vehicles and exchange details.”

Thousands of people are up in arms over the new road design at Cowgate, particularly the removal of the traffic lights at the busy Kerr St/Catherine St junction. Many have told the Herald they fear it is only a matter of time before a serious accident happens there.
