Round the Clyde Walkathon
The Walkathon follows the edge of the famous River Clyde and takes place on Sunday 28th August, starting and finishing at the CHSS office within the HUB (70 Pacific Quay, Glasgow).
The route follows an urban 3km circular route and the charity are offering four lengths of walk to choose from depending on walking ability. There’s the 3km Saunter, the 6km Stroll, the 9km Swagger, and the 12km Stride.
Andrea McIntyre, CHSS Fundraising Officer, said: “We’re really looking forward to launching the new Round the Clyde Walkathon as we get fantastic support in Glasgow. We’re looking to provide some historical information about the buildings and areas around the walk too so you can find out more about the background of City and the Clyde as you enjoy your amble around the route.
“We’ve made the event highly accessible, the route uses pavements and pedestrian footpaths suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels along with wheelchair users, prams, plus well-behaved dogs are all very welcome. There is a small fee of £10 per adult and £5 per child (ages 5-17, with under 5’s walking for free) and every walker will receive a CHSS t-shirt, a unique Round the Clyde Walkathon participant number and a medal of achievement.
“All money raised by the event will be used to help those living in Glasgow with chest, heart and stroke conditions to continue to receive vital support.”
