Royal Oak Hotel now ‘massive eyesore’
ACTION is being called for to prevent the first thing visitors to Lanark seeing on arrival being the eyesore a once fine old building has become.
The former Royal Oak Hotel next to Lanark Station has badly deteriorated in the five years since it last closed its doors to customers and now, instead of being the huge asset to the town’s tourist trade it once was, it has become an embarrassment.
That is according to members of Lanark Community Council who discussed the future - if any - of the building at their latest meeting.
