Detective Sergeant Alan MacDonald from Cambuslang CID, said: “Thankfully no one was injured during the incident and no money was taken, however, to be threatened by a knife is a very frightening thing to happen to you.

“Officers are currently checking CCTV and speaking to householders and businesses in the area but would appeal to anyone who was there or the vicinity last night, either before or after 8pm, who may have seen the man hanging about or running to the flats.”

The man is described as white and 40 to 49-years-old, and he was wearing a dark ‘bubble’ jacket, possibly with a hood, at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cambuslang CID on 101, using incident number 3242 of the 3 January 2018, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
