For a number of years now, the school’s SQA performance has been among the best in the country, said its proud headteacher, with young
people across the ability range enjoying exam success in S4, S5 and S6.

This year, the results for S4 and S5 were the best in East Dunbartonshire, the first time the school has managed to achieve this feat.

Head Gordon Moulsdale told the Herald this year’s
figures have improved further and make “spectacular reading”.

Some 76 per cent of pupils in S4 passed five or more of their National 5 exams with an an impressive 45 per cent achieving A-C passes in each of their eight subjects. Twenty-eight pupils had ‘A’ passes in all eight.

The S5 results were every bit as impressive with record levels being reached at all key measures.

85 per cent of
the year group attained
at least one A-C Higher pass, 71 per cent passed three or more Highers and 42 per cent passed five or more.

There were 17 pupils in S5 who managed the remarkable achievement of ‘A’ passes in all five subjects and two boys, David Cheng and Innes Johnston, managed an incredible six ‘A’ passes.

There was significant
success too in S6 with many pupils doing extremely well at both Higher and Advanced Higher level.

The pass rate for the Advanced Highers sat by Bishopbriggs Academy pupils was 85 per cent, again the best figure achieved.

Mr Moulsdale said: “It is wonderful to see our young people achieving such incredible success.

“These superb results are a direct consequence of pupils working extremely hard and receiving outstanding support from all their teachers.

“As well as the excellent work that goes on in
classrooms on a day to day basis, the extensive support programme we have in place consisting of assertive mentoring, after-school study classes and our Easter Revision school have been a major factor.

“Having spoken to a number of parents, I know how justifiably proud they
all are. It is hugely gratifying to see our pupils and indeed our staff achieving the success they richly deserve.”
