Science rocks at Scotland St School

The fun day, run by Shell Education Service (SES), was a chance for the southside’s bright sparks to consider a future in the world the science.

Adriana Konjani, general manager at Shell Glasgow, explained: “Some of the UK’s biggest global challenges ar reliant on people with science skills to find solutions — so getting children interested and enjoying science at an early age can encourage them to take the initial interest to secondary education and beyond.

“It was a super fun day and encouraging children to enjoy investigating science at an early age is what the Shell Family Science Days are all about.”

Youngsters from the southside schools joined others — more than 300 pupils — from across the city in practical lessons on electricity, energy transfer, forces and motion and materials.

Visitors to the Pollokshields museum were also treated to a science circus show, scuttlers, bandrollers, marble runs and volcanoes.
