See Lanark’s Winter Lanimer Procession tonight

That’s the invitation tonight, Friday, for the annual Late Night Lanark evening, with many of he town’s shops and businesses staying open late to allow Lanarkians working out of town during the day to do some of their Christmas shopping in their home town.

As ever, there will be special attractions, not least a re-run of part of this summer’s Lanimer Procession with some of the lorries lit-up for the darkness that will have fallen by the time the parade begins at 7pm.

Again this year, Lanark’s `Christmas Elves’ will be in and around the town centre, three of whom the Gazette is assured will bear an uncanny resemblance to the town’s three councillors, namely Ed Archer, Catherine McClymont and Vivienne Shaw.

Some of the businesses will be running special promotions and making spevcial offers; there is even free beer and cake for those willing to seek it out!

Organised by the Lanark Business Group, the event is part of Lanark Winterfest.
