Jura the golden retriever, who is only a few months old, vanished from the family home in Kirk Road on Thursday morning having been startled by a bin lorry.

The animal then went up Clyde Street before vanishing into the nearby Whiteshaw Estate.

The sensory dog is a constant companion for Lorna Ramsay’s 10-year-old disabled son Arran.

But thankfully late on Friday night the dog was reunited with its owner.

Lorna said: “We had sent out 1000 flyers and I have to thank everyone who helped look for Jura or helped share Jura’s story online.

“It was so important that we got her back for Arran; thank you to everyone.”

The story certainly caused a stir on the Gazette’s Facebook page with over 30,000 people viewing our article over the weekend.
