SFRS issues adivce to those renting property during Games

With the clock ticking down to Glasgow 2014 the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is issuing key advice to homeowners considering renting out their property during the Commonwealth Games.

Officers want to ensure anyone welcoming paying guests into their homes understands they need to comply with fire safety legislation.
Assistant chief officer Lewis Ramsay, director of prevention and protection for SFRS, explained: “Glasgow 2014 is the biggest event ever to take place in Scotland and we want to make sure everyone who comes here for the Games has an enjoyable and safe visit.
“Anyone who rents out a property has a duty of care under the Fire Scotland Act.”
