Should East Dunbartonshire Council fly the flag for Palestine?

East Dunbartonshire Council admit they will consider flying the Palestinian Flag at one of their public buildings.

There have been a number of protests across Scotland in the wake of increasingly hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian Authorities.

Earlier this week, neighbouring West Dunbartonshire became the first local council to show their public support for the Palestinian cause by flying their flag above Dumbarton Town Hall.

When asked if East Dunbartonshire would do the same, council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “We have in the past flown various flags to show support for other countries or events.

“We are aware of West Dunbartonshire’s decision and are considering the matter.”
