SLIDESHOW - Annual classic car rally is a triumph

The second annual Giffnock Classic car rally has been hailed as a roaring success, with something for everyone from vintage to hotrod, pink Cadillac to souped up motorbikes.

There was entertainment everywhere from buskers to stilt walkers, bouncy castle to merry-go-round, Classic 50s songs from the ‘hit parade’ as well as live bands provided the party atmosphere — even the sun came out to play.

A spokesman for Giffnock village.com said: “It was a very successful event. We expected more than 4,000 to come along for the big party day and I think we far exceeded that.”

The cars were the stars, of course, but there is no doubt the event was elevated by the variety of entertainment with a real carnival atmosphere, cementing the occassion as a permanent fixture on the Giffnock BID calendar.
