Southside kids grab their table tennis bats

MORE than 120 children from Merrylee, Shawlands and Cuthbertson primary schools took to the tables recently for a Table Tennis Festival at Glasgow Clyde College’s Langside campus.

The event was organised by students, including Thornliebank’s Rory Bradley.

Rory told The Extra: “A lot of people don’t understand what a great sport table tennis is and, with the Games coming up, it’s a perfect time to get them involved.”

Martin Perry — an international disabled table tennis player — was also on hand to give out certificates at the prizegiving.
