Stage stars shout about their faith

Young people from Clarkston kept the faith at Eastwood Park Theatre last weekend with an all-singing, all-dancing performance.

A cast of 23, all aged 16-30, took to the stage last Friday and Saturday for An Act of Faith — an original production organised by Cartsbridge Evangelical Church.

Although many had never tread the boards before, the show was christened a huge success, with over 300 people turning up to hear the group tell the story of their own beliefs and the importance of the church in their lives.

And it was a case of hard work beforehand paying off, as the group had also designed scenery, costumes and props, as well as creating their own choreography.

Cartsbridge Church’s Allistair Gray told The Extra: “These young Christians produced a fun and thought-provoking night through singing, dancing and drama.

“The show told the story of salvation through Jesus Christ in a new, courageous and exciting way.”

The show received high praise from audience members, with one commenting that the “passion, commitment and joy was evident in every member of the cast”.

Another added: “Brilliant performance and outstanding effort from everyone.”
