Teacher bows out at Holy Cross after 23 years

PUPILS and staff at a Croy school said a fond farewell to a teacher who has served the community for 23 years.

Sandra Docherty retired from Holy Cross Primary School recently finishing off her teaching career in a high as deputy headteacher.

Sandra started at the school as a teacher before taking up a position as senior teacher and latterly deputy headteacher.

A mass of thanksgiving was held in her honour on Friday, February 8, and gifts were presented to her at a school assembly.

A spokeswomen for the school said: “She worked tirelessly for the school.

“She was a great personality and she was loved by everybody.”
