Teacher Jeannie Westgarth retires from Lanark Primary School

Jeannie Westgarth said goodbye at the Easter Break after teaching for a quarter of a century at Lanark Primary.

Originally from near Birmingham, Jeannie married and moved to Scotland after completing her teacher training.

She taught in many schools, including Douglas, Forth and Kirkton Primaries, and also had spells working in adult literacy and as an instructor with those with special needs.

Jeannie took time out to have her two daughters; on her return to teaching she went to Lanark Primary.
