Teens mugged for their mobiles

TEENAGERS have been targeted for their mobile phones in two separate incidents in Cumbernauld.

Police say the incidents which happened on Saturday, March 16, could possibly be linked after the victims gave similar descriptions of the gang of three suspects, who are aged between 16 and 19 years.

One victim was even punched in the face when they were targeted with friends in the Westfield area,

The group of three teenagers had two mobile phones stolen from them at around 7pm by the gang. They were approached, threatened, and one of the suspects lashed out and punched one of the teenagers before the gang made off.

Meanwhile, two teenagers were also robbed of their mobile phones whilst walking across a Condorrat footbridge.

The 13 and 14 year old victims were targeted by a gang of three at around 7.15pm. They were threatened before handing over their property.

The suspects then fled off towards the Condorrat area.

The first male is described as being around 5’ 11” with dark hair, and he wore a hooded top and light coloured trousers.

The second suspect is described as being stocky and wearing a light coloured hooded top.

The final suspect was wearing a dark tracksuit.
