Thieves target golf club

POLICE are appealing for information following a break in and high value theft at Deaconsbank golf club.

The incident occurred overnight on Thursday (September 19) at the Eastwood club.

According to investigating officers, an angle grinder was used to cut a shed padlock, and two lawnmowers were stolen from the premises — amounting to a value of £17,000.

Inspector Alan Dickson, of Giffnock police office, told The Extra: “An angle grinder would have made lots of noise.

“We’re appealing to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious to contact us on the non-emergency number 101.”
