Tom Hyslop is Chieftan of Shotts Games

CARLUKE man Tom Hyslop is the 2013 Chieftain of Shotts Highland Games.

He received the Ravenscraig Cromach, the Chieftain’s badge of office, from last year’s Chieftain, North Lanarkshire Provost James Robertson.

Tom, who lives in East Avenue with wife Joan, has been part of the Highland Games for years – but with a different hat on in the past.

As Police Inspector Tom Hyslop, he was originally involved in policing the Games. He enjoyed that so much that he later offered his services as a helper.
