Top Gear wannabees step up a gear for retirement
A group of teachers who are retiring from Bearsden Academy got a wonderful surprise recently when fellow teachers organised for a yellow Porsche Boxster to come to the school - for them to test drive.
The Top Gear wannabees were: Alan Fingland, principal teacher of PE, Bill Lindsay, principal teacher of support for learning, Bill’s wife Jane (PE teacher), Brian Jilks, teacher of design technology and Bill Storrie, principal teacher of Religious Education.
Deputy headteacher at Bearsden Academy Annette MacKay, said: “Bill and Jane Lindsay met in Bearsden Academy as young teachers in the early 80s.
“In total they have given over 100 years of teaching service to Bearsden Academy. The first three have been there for nearer 30 years each. It’s some achievement.”
