Top marks forSt Lucy’s pupils

The P7 class is teaching nursery children Spanish, and we think their work is so far ‘muy bien’.

Pupils across the entire school are all working towards becoming rising stars.

The award system allows a child in each class the chance to be given a trophy for good behaviour and they get to take it home for the weekend before they share it at the school assembly.

St Lucy’s aims to encourage kids to adhere to the school motto of the 3 Rs - respect for yourself, respect for others and responsibilty for your actions.

Technology is helping primary one and two with their active literacy work. Using iPads, a lightbox and SMARTboard, the kids are working on improving their reading.

Author Katie Morag has inspired P3 with their work.

The children have set up a Struay shop and post office to help them learn about money, and this is related to their project on Scotland and Katie Morag books.

The upper school are busy working on their projects with P4 looking at the brain, P5 are focussing on volcanoes and P6 are studying Japan.

The Language and Communication Support Centre pupils are running a library, and with Fairtrade and Book Week being celebrated at the school, pupils have plenty to look forward to.
