Tragedy at Whitecraigs station
NEWTON Mearns is in mourning after the tragic death of a 13-year-old.
Mearns Castle pupil Heather Still died yesterday after being struck by a train at Whitecraigs station.
The incident happened at 2pm and officers from BTP and Police Scotland attended, alongside crews from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Hide AdThe incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a report will be submitted to the local Procurator Fiscal.

An East Renfrewshire council spokeswoman said: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the sudden death of a local 13 year old. This remains a British Transport Police matter and we are unable to comment further at this time.”
