Fares set to rise on First Glasgow buses

First Glasgow says most fares will change, but this year, to support all Students and U19s as they prepare to tackle the new academic year of study, apprenticeships or new jobs, all fares in this category have been frozen at the 2018 prices.

For commuters, its best value Unlimited Ticket has been held at the 2018 price of £60 per month for travel across the entire network.

Regular travellers will find the First Week ticket has been frozen at 2018 prices across the network when purchased on the bus.

Family tickets have also been frozen for another year across First Glasgow’s local, city and network services.

And night service prices have also been frozen to provide many of the Glasgow’s suburbs and outlying towns with a vital link to help residents take advantage of the city’s bustling nightlife and attractions..

Graeme Macfarlan, commercial director at First Glasgow, said: “These changes are essential to allow us to continue to operate the highest level of service possible for our customers.

“We have worked hard to keep any increases to a minimum and continue to offer customers the cheapest fares via mTickets purchased on the First Bus App.

“Our focus on encouraging more customers to purchase mTickets will continue, as this helps improve journey times and punctuality, which are all factors that we know are vital to customers.”

First Glasgow says it is reinvesting fares into the improvement of services across the network. Recently it introduced 150 new low emission buses into the city network.
