Tributes for Natasha Paton

HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to Natasha Paton - the bright, friendly young woman whose great potential will now never be realised.

Fittingly, these tributes were led by her head teacher at Lanark Grammar School, Mark Sherry.

He said: "Natasha was a young person with a lovely nature towards everyone in school.

"She always had a smile for teachers and fellow students whenever she saw them."

Natasha's friends expressed their grief via her Bebo social networking page.

As it would have been her 18th birthday on Tuesday, a stream of friends left comments throughout the day.

Ross Stewart posted: "Natasha you were a good friend, taken too soon. You will be sadly missed but he only takes the best."

And friend Lora MacDonald said: "RIP and happy birthday angel xxxxx."

Another poster, known simply as E, added: "Happy birthday for tomorrow sweetie. Can't believe you won't be here so we can share it with you.

"I really don't know what to say, still in shock to be honest. Just hope to see you soon darling. Sleep tight."

A tribute Facebook page has also been set up. In that, Margaret Hastings wrote: "My thoughts are with my cousin who has lost her darling daughter.

"She has gone too soon but never to be forgotten. Sleep in peace angel xxx."

And Lisa Sandilands added: "It just hit me last night that you were gone and I still can't believe it's happened. School will never be the same. It shouldn't have been you Natasha."
