Creature Comforts, in Milngavie, currently have a three month old Crested Gecko looking for a home.

Crested Geckos eat powdered food, waxworms, mealworms and a special jelly mixture and their life expectancy is usually about 15 to 20 years.

Or how about a Leopard Gecko? They eat crickets and locusts and live for about 20 years.

Creature Comforts also have a corn snake and a royal python, they both grow to about five or six feet long so they need a large vivarium, a heatpad and they shed their skin every few weeks.

Pythons eat approximately one mouse a week and they live for about 30 years or more.

Craig Gordon, assistant manager, said: “Our more unusual pets are popular but we remind people that they need proper care and they can live for a long time.”
