Tommy, formerly of Fallside Road, lived latterly in sheltered housing in Fife Crescent. He was in his late 80s and his funeral was held at Bothwell Parish Church.

One villager said: “Until recently Tommy still liked to get out to enjoy a quiet pint at Bothwell Bridge Hotel. He was one of the last characters in the village.”
