Provost Una Walker invited members of Campsie Bowling Club to a Civic Reception at Southbank Marina on the occasion of the club’s 150th Anniversary.

The club was founded in 1863 in Station Road, in Lennoxtown, and has been a consistantly popular club throughout the years.

Today it boasts a healthy membership of 77 gentlemen and 42 ladies - who became equal members with the men in 2006.

Provost Una Walker said: “It was a great pleasure to meet the members of Campsie Bowling Club and to congratulate them on their 150th Anniversary.

“It is heartening to know that traditional clubs are still going strong in the community and I wish them well in the years to come.”
