Village getting set for Santa

Santa comes to Bothwell when the Christmas parade takes place through the village this Friday.

The event, organised by Bothwell and Uddingston Rotary Club, kicks off at the shops in Woodlands Avenue at 6.30pm.

The parade makes its way to Silverwells and Main Street, ending at Bothwell Parish Church Centre where there will be various stalls selling crafts and festive treats.

Meanwhile, the rotary club’s Christmas Concert featuring Bothwell Philharmonic Choir was held at Bothwell Parish Church on Sunday and proceeds from ticket sales will go to St Andrew’s Hospice.

It’s a busy period for the choir who are teaming up with Gorgie Brass Band for another concert, The Wonder of Christmas, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow on Thursday, December 22, at 7.30pm.
