Warning after 88-year-old targeted by sneak thief

Police are warning elderly people to be vigilant after an 88-year-old man in Milton of Campsie was the victim of a bogus workman.

The callous fraudsters struck at the pensioner’s home at Lochiel Drive between 2-4pm on Thursday, July 28.

After offering to clean the gutters of the house, the sneak thief stole a quantity of cash from the senior citizen.

The thief has been described as 34-38 years old, around 6ft in height and was wearing a light-coloured/fawn suit and a woollen grey cardigan.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen this man or who can help, to contact them on 101.
