Waterworks at Eaglesham

Scottish Water is advising road-users in the Eaglesham area of some road traffic management while essential work is carried out.

Contractors for Scottish Water will be working on improvements to waste water infrastructure in the area that will enable further development by housebuilders Mactaggart & Mickel.

Work is due to start on Monday, January 5, and is expected to take around four months to complete.

There are five phases at different locations in Eaglesham, including Eaglesham Common parkland, the Orry woodland, Polnoon Street and Moor Road.

Polnoon Street will be closed to through traffic from Monday, February 2, for around 13 weeks and the use of temporary traffic lights in Moor Road at its junction with Polnoon Street for the same period. Residents’ access and parking will be maintained.

Scottish Water says all the construction work will be carried out between 8am and 4.30pm.

A spokeswoman warned; “Local residents might notice an increase in traffic and noise while we are working in the area but we will make every effort to minimise any inconvenience. When we have completed the work we will reinstate all areas to the original condition.

Scottish Water would like to thank any affected customers, road-users and businesses in advance for their patience and understanding.”
