What future for Lanark's Royal Oak Hotel?
South Lanarkshire Council officials are seeking talks with the current owners of Lanark's former Royal Oak Hotel to discover what plans, if any, they have for the building's future.
It has lain vacant for several years, and concern is growing over its decaying state.
Lanark Development Trust has put hoardings showing the route of a Wallace trail through the town over its boarded-up windows, to brighten up the building for those arriving from the nearby train station.
